With climate change driving more extreme temperatures, more and more workers are exposed to dangerous working conditions as each day passes.

The Workplace Extreme Temperature Safety Act (HB3762) is a common sense piece of legislation that helps workers keep safe from extreme temperatures. No one should have to die or suffer health consequences simply for trying to earn a wage, especially when it is preventable.

Workers fought to win a national heat safety standard for decades, but when power transferred to the Trump administration, worker protections were slashed by defunding agencies that help protect workers. So since the Federal government abandons workers, instead of protecting them, Illinois has to step up.
